About Us

Ramsey & District Community Bus Association

Formed in the late 1980’s, Ramsey & District Community Bus Association Ltd., is registered as an Industrial and Provident Society No.26992R in 1990. As such it has charitable status and is run for the benefit of the Local Area Community.

We are an entirely voluntary, not for profit, organisation headed by a group of Trustees, managed by a Committee. Our objectives are to provide transport for other non profit making organisations, including the elderly and/or handicapped, within the rural area of Ramsey and its surrounding villages. We are obliged to charge groups and individuals who want to hire us an annual Registration Fee, which currently is £5 per year.

We have 2, 15 seat minibus, both equipped for disability access, together with a small team of volunteer drivers, dedicated to supporting our objective of providing transport for the various clubs, societies and qualifying individuals in the area. We are always in need of more drivers and if you could give some of your time to helping us ensure a continued service, then please “contact us”.

Every Thursday and Friday we provide a Rural Hoppa (RH) bus type service. Thursday covers Upwood to Huntingdon through the villages on route and on Friday we start at Upwood and come into the town centre and on out to Tesco, then we circumnavigate Ramsey’s villages starting at Heights, through St Marys to Pondersbridge, turn right at the church to Mereside, on to Forty Foot, then into Ramsey shopping centre and the Tesco store. These services are in conjunction with Cambridgeshire County Council.
